Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Bhubaneswar

On arrival at Bhubaneswar airport / railway station transfer to hotel. Later if time permit half day sightseeing of tribal museum (closed on Monday), Khandagiri & Udaigiri Jain caves (oldest rock cut caves, the caves are reminiscent of influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Orissa). Overnight at Bhubaneswar

 

Day 02: Bhubaneswar – Dhauli – Hirapur – Pipli – Raghurajpur – Puri

Morning drive to Puri, enroute visit Dhauli (Buddhist stupa/ peace pagoda), Hirapur (64 yogini temple), Pipli (the appliqué work village) & Raghurajpur (the Artisan village, the most famous attractions here are the Pattachitra (miniature paintings), palm leaf engravings, wooden toys, tusser paintings etc.  Proceed to Puri and check in to the hotel. Evening visit of Lord Jagannath Temple (Non Hindus are not allowed) / Relax on the golden beach of Puri. Overnight at Puri.

 

Day 03: Puri – Konark – Puri

Morning excursion to Konark to visit the Sun temple (one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda). Enroute visit to Ramchandi temple & Chandrabhaga beach (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands & the beach has its own lovely serenity). Later visit to Sun temple Interpretation centre (Open from 10 hrs to 19 hrs), Watch light & sound show at sun Temple ( Show timing is 18.30 – 19.10 hrs & 19.30 to 20.10 hrs, closed on Monday). Return back to Puri. Evening visit to beach market. Overnight at Puri.

 

 

Day 04: Puri – Chilika lake at Barkul

Morning drive to Chilika Lake at Barkul. Check in to Sand Pebbles Chilika Eco Resort. Do boating in Barkul at Chilika lake (Own expense) to  visit Kalijai Temple & view Migratory birds (Found from October to March) at Nalabana bird sanctuary (visit restricted up to permitted area). Visit Odi Art Museum (Closed on Thursday). Night stay at Resort.

 

Day 05: Barkul –Bhubaneswar

Morning after breakfast drive towards Bhubaneswar. Check in to hotel. Later visit to famous city temples including Lingaraj, Parsurameswar, Mukteswar (known as the ‘gem of Orissan architecture’) & Rajarani temple. After lunch break visit to Nandankanan Zoo (closed on Monday). This Zoo is famous for the white tiger safari and Botanical garden. Rest time free for shopping at local makre.t Overnight at Bhubaneswar.

 

Day 06: Bhubaneswar & Departure

Drive back to Bhubaneswar and transfer to airport / railway station for onward journey.
