Itinerary

Day  01 : Arrival at Bhubaneswar

On arrival at Bhubaneswar airport / railway station transfer to hotel. Later if time permit do half day sightseeing of tribal museum (closed on Monday), Khandagiri & Udaigiri Jain caves (oldest rock cut caves, the caves are reminiscent of influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Orissa). Overnight at hotel.

 

Day  02 : Bhubaneswar – Dhauli – Hirapur – Pipli – Raghurajpur – Puri ( Aprx 75 Km & 1.5 hrs drive)

Morning drive to Puri en-route visit Dhauli (Buddhist Stupa / Peace Pagoda). Dhauli Hills are famously known for the Ashoka edicts and the place where he has  changed. Pipili (Applique Work Village) Hirapur (64 Yogini Temple) Then to Pipli ( the appliqué work village ) & Raghurajpur ( the Artisan village, the most famous attraction here are the Pattachitra (miniature paintings ), palm leaf engravings, stone carvings, wooden toys, tusser paintings etc. Proceed to Puri and check in to the hotel. Relax on the Golden beach of Puri. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 03 : Puri – Konark – Puri

Morning visit to Jagannath temple (non hindus are not allowed). Then drive to Konark to visit the Sun temple (one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda). En-route visit to Ramchandi temple & Chandrabhaga beach (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands & the beach has its own lovely serenity). Konark the Chariot of the Sun God temple, built by Laqngula Narasingh Deva in 13th century A.D.. The Sun temple is known for its exquisite and intricate architecture and sculptures, an UNSECO World Heritge List of monument. Then to Sun Temple Interpretation Centre ( Open from 10hrs to 19 hrs). Evening watch light & sound show at sun Temple ( Show timing is 18.30 – 19.10 hrs & 19.30 to 20.10 hrs, closed on Monday). Return back to Puri. Evening visit to beach market. Overnight at Puri.

 

Day  04 : Puri – Chilika – Gopalpur ( Aprx 200 KM & 4 Hrs drive)

After breakfast checkout from hotel excursion to Chilika Lake at Barkul, enjoy boating services, visit Kalijai Temple in the heart of Lake & view Migratory birds (Found from October to March) at Nalabana bird sanctuary  & visit restricted up to permitted area. Afternoon drive to Gopalpur. Gopalpur beach is famous for most picturesque seashores and gusty cool breeze all the time. The calmness of the beach is contagious that it soothes the senses. People comes to beach for improvement of health. Evening relax at beach. Overnight at Gopalpur.

 

Day 05 : Taratarini and Pati Sonapur beach

Today have breakfast & visit to Taratarini Temple. Gopalpur is not just the beach but it is also famous for the Taratarini temple. We climb a small hillock to view this temple and then proceed to Patisonapur. In comparison to the more crowded beaches, Patisonapur is relatively quiet and gives time for a breather. Watch as the sun sets and then return to the Gopalpur hotel for the night stay.

 

Day 06 : Gopalpur – Bhubaneswar ( Aprx 170 Km & 3hrs drive)

Check out from the hotel & transfer to Bhubaneswar. Check in to hotel. Freshen up & visit of Temples: Parasurameswar, Mukteswar, Lingaraj( Non Hindus are not allowed inside the temple, but view from outside), Rajarani & Brahmeswar Temple belong to 07th to 12th Century AD. If time permit visit of Caves Khandagiri & Udayagiri Jain caves belong to 2nd Century BC. Night stay at Bhubaneswar.

 

Day 07 : Bhubaneswar – Chandipur ( Aprx 250 Km & 5hrs drive)

After breakfast check out from the hotel. Drive towards Chandipur. Check in to hotel & visit to Khirachora Gopinath temple. Refresh, put on appropriate beachwear, and head for the Chandipur beach. This beautiful beach is number two in terms of popularity and is unspoiled. From here you go on to Balaramgadi where the river meets the sea. As the sun sets you to return to your hotel for the overnight stay at Chandipur.

 

Day 08 : Chandipur – Bhubaneswar

Check out from the hotel & visit to Panchalingeshwar Temple located on top of a small hillock. The view is simply marvelous from here and the sight of a spring flowing from the five lingams is one to awe the mind. Return to Bhubaneswar. Check in & overnight stay at Hotel.

 

Day 09 : Bhubaneswar (Departure)

Post breakfast & check out. Drop at Airport or Railway station for your onward journey.
